This book is a collection of stories from a long and happy life. It isn’t the whole book of me, just some of the parts that still shine when I think back. In these pages, you’ll meet some of the people who came before you—farmers, barbers, fishermen, makers and doers—whose grit and kindness helped shape who I became. I’m sharing these to keep our roots close and our stories alive, so that when you wonder where you come
from, you can hear it in my voice.
