Multilingual photographic catalog: Italian, English, Spanish. The catalog is a survey of the macro-theme of the Anthropocene, introducing some projects linked to the most pressing themes, including environmental issues such as drought, food, and resource distribution. In other words, it examines the impact of man on the environment and highlights its critical issues. To use the words of the curator: "Nature is not only represented: it is questioned, challenged, and at the same time celebrated in its strength and vulnerability." "Lucia di Nicolantonio's photographs offer themselves as an intense and poetic visual story, in which nature manifests itself through familiar subjects but made with plastic materials, a tangible symbol of the contamination and forced transformation of our environment. (...) The body of works suffocates the observer, immersing him in a reality where the destruction of the planet is palpable and looming. Plastic, a symbolic material of the contemporary era, here becomes the common thread that unites natural and artificial elements, inviting us to reflect on the broken relationship between humans and the environment. The shots that emerge from the surface of the paper, and are compared with poetry, with the verses of the poet Mirta Basilisco, meet criticism and scientific research, and finally are questioned with some contributions from Genevieve Vaughan (an American semiotician, peace activist, feminist, and philanthropist).
