after sharing my journey of illness, pregnancy, abortion and loss on instagram with my followers, i was flooded with messages from people sharing their own stories--the incredibly underestimated pain we go through with the little guidance, support, or information we are given by our society. i hope through my art to bridge the gap of necessary information that people like me need the most in a beautiful, funny, and unapologetic way.

i also would like to implore young men to read this and engage with similar topics of art. i imagine if young men understood the physical and mental pain that we go through on a daily basis, it could change this processs. how painful, lonely, and hopeless this experience is for most people could be lessened. young men need to take on more logistical responsibility and emotional burden for women moving forward. especially the women they are responsible for impregnating. it's not your body, but it is your responsibility to be decent and there.

the day after my abortion, i recorded an improvised music album with all the poems and thoughts i had been spinning on after saying goodbye to my bunch of cells.
