Acerca del libro
This gallery book is my final collection of work for Of The Lakes: University of Colorado Denver BFA Thesis Exhibition.
This body of work is both a personal and creative exploration, bridging the gap between generations and reconnecting with a culture that I never got to experience.
Inspired by the art forms, motifs, and cultural practices of the Salish peoples, I delve into the stories and symbols that echo through my heritage. Through this process, I aim to honor my ancestors while creating a contemporary dialogue that reflects my own identity. My work seeks to balance reverence for traditional art forms with my perspective as a modern artist, fostering a deeper understanding of my roots and their connection to the world around me.
