In this sequel, Koffi celebrates his ninth birthday with family and friends. One morning, while Koffi eats breakfast at the kitchen table, his aunt, Tati Anazi, reminds him that it is his birthday. The newly turned nine-year-old, Koffi, is unhappy about the fact that he is nine and, instead, wishes that he would remain the same age. But, before Koffi heads off to school, Tati Anazi gives him a little knowledge about how growing up is one of the natural stages of life. Upon his return home from school, Koffi receives a special surprise; as he opens the door to his home. Many of his family members and friends were present, including Kwame, Kudjoe, Ekua, and Adia. As his birthday gift, his father gives him a new soccer ball, along with a new pair of cleats; Koffi is very happy. By the end of the day, Koffi is out playing soccer with his friends.
