Acerca del libro
Anxiety is often attributed to being one of the most widespread health issues in America. Much of this issue can be traced back to the lack of overall education on anxiety and emotional health children receive in their impressionable years. Thus, many children transition into adulthood lacking the ability to effectively handle the stressors in their life. Worry Stars acts to introduce children into the world of emotional health to help facilitate a future of healthy emotional habits and hopes to give rise to further conversations about children’s mental health.
Melinda Rolls is an eighteen-year-old self-taught illustrator and mental health advocate. Her debut book Worry Stars is inspired by her personal struggle with anxiety as a child and the peace she learned to find with mindfulness. Melinda will be attending Hofstra University in the fall to study Broadcast Journalism and hopes to continue exploring the children’s literary world in her future.
