This documentary photo project follows the work of winemakers from Domaine les Cascades, an organic vineyard in southern France. The photographs illuminate the winemakers’ commitment to sustainable agriculture and the natural beauty of the landscape. Domaine les Cascades serves as one example of a larger shift towards sustainable agriculture and innovative winemaking practices among winemakers in the Corbières region of the Languedoc-Roussillon.

Katherine Carey holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography & Imaging from the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU. Originally from Connecticut, Katherine lived in France for five years before moving to Chicago in 2021. Katherine was inspired by photography from a young age, and has been photographing for over 20 years. Her work is primarily portraiture, landscape and documentary photography. She has exhibited and lectured about her work in the United States and France, and has self-published numerous books of her photography and poetry.
