Stefan (45) lives with his family in San Diego, CA. Stefan grew up in the Swiss alps, where majestic landscapes and mountain topics are abundant. He is a self-taught photographer and attended a 3-year course to delve into photography and develop his own style. His early work was influenced by Swiss fine art photographer and personal tutor Reto Camenisch (https://www.camenisch.ch). Stefan was inspired by Swiss photographer Marco Grob (https://www.marcogrob.com). Stefan admires the simplicity and clarity in his black and white portraits. In 2021 Stefan joined a 2-year MA Photography program to further develop his photography and story telling skills. Southern California, with its large Native American and Mexican influence, offers plenty of opportunities and challenges for Stefan to make new contacts and work on projects to show ethnical, racial or economic injustice. The Anza-Borrego desert became Stefan's preferred recreational place.
