The genesis of this collection was largely the result of my inhibition to take snapshots of people head on. Of concern also was their “naturalism” being compromised if they noticed the camera in my hand (in a few cases – the photo on the cover, for instance – their inhibition to being photographed provided fortunate opportunities). So, my not wanting to be caught clicking the shutter produced, at least for me, some interesting compositions of anonymity.
