Genie Byrd's writings are inspired by her love for education and family, her strong faith, her deep sense of sharing legacy with the next generation, and her roots in Hemingway, South Carolina. Now a retired teacher, counselor, and school principal, Genie continues her love of teaching through writing children's books, inspiring young writers through school assemblies, sharing activities with her grandchildren, teaching piano, and speaking for women's conferences. She and husband James live in Evans, Georgia and feel blessed to have a son and two daughters who have enriched their lives with treasures called grandchildren.
