These photographs of angels from the Victorian era cemeteries come from the American and European traditions. The sculptures, carved in stone or marble, are often shown from various angles, photographed in monochromatic film and digital color techniques. There are more than 50 photos of angels from 16 cemeteries in this collection.

Bob Giles is an artist from California who has an extensive background in both the visual arts and music. As a painter and photographer he has exhibited in the San Francisco Bay area for over 40 years. He specializes in photographs of the Victorian Garden Cemeteries, classic portraits, and costumed dancers from many cultures. As a musician Bob Giles has performed music with the guitar and flute in the San Francisco Bay area for 20 years with diverse groups in Jazz, Folk, and Classical styles. His CD, Inside the Marble Zoo, features original music with some of the best musicians in the Bay Area.
