In March 2020, the COVID-19 virus forced Union College to abruptly close its campus in Schenectady, NY. Spring term became distance learning. Most classes were conducted via Zoom on short notice. For seniors, eleven typical and normal trimesters ended with their twelfth trimester at Union being held during a worldwide pandemic encompassing the entire country from coast to coast. The worldwide epicenter of the virus became New York City, just 150 miles from Union's campus.
