Stuart Gordon is a nature and travel photographer who has journeyed to far-flung places of the world in search of magical landscapes, intriguing wildlife and compelling faces to capture with his camera. "To me, photography is about being a participant, rather than merely an observer, in a singular and unrepeatable moment when light, weather, location and subject combine to produce an extraordinary scene," Gordon says. "My goal is to share with the viewer my emotional response to the scene. I think of myself as a translator, or interpreter, rather than merely a documenter of reality. My goal is to create images that capture the poetic moments of life so that the viewer feels the thrill I felt at the moment I pressed the shutter and is moved the way I was moved." In June 2014, he and his family embarked on a round-the-world journey that took them to 23 countries in 11 months. He has published two books of photography from that trip that is available on Amazon.
