As a volunteer in a Montessori pre school, I became inspired to begin to create easy books that our friends at the pre school would appreciate. As a volunteer, not a trained Montessori teacher, I began to see the wonderful learning environment that was set in motion at the pre school and watched two year olds read simple books and count. I began to see what the children were looking for and expecting in a story book while learning at the same time. More than anything, I saw the children's desire of wanting to interact and be involved with the story, in some way. This is my first direction into taking what the children in the preschool taught me and giving it back to them, in a book format. I hope all children enjoy learning the sounds of the alphabet, as I have had in making it! Letters 'n to z' will be next :). Montessori teach small letters first and emphasize the sounds of the letters, first.
