“There were two things that I remember doing the most as a kid: listening to music and going to car races,” says Wilson. “I have spent a good part of the last ten years photographing the music world, from formally set up shoots to doing photo essays of tours and life on the road. Many of my subjects became friends and some I just knew for a day. Some of the people I have been fortunate to know have gone on to more successful and complicated lives. My camera and I have been witness to their sacrifices and pursuit of their dreams. I am intrigued by people making their way on the hardest path, their own. My favorite photographs and assignments have been the ones when I was able to see behind the scenes and capture real moments that were natural, not fabricated.”
