I have been a re-enactor for 10 years, focusing on the domestic life in the Viking period. I like the idea of not wasting what can be used, I utilise what I can to make tools and dyes from kitchen scraps, including cleaning products.
I created the Independent viking cookbooks to share my experiments and recipies to encorage others to be more adventurous and demonstate how easy it can be to cook on an open fire, making your own bread and cheese, among others.
