A life-long gardener and photographer, Jack McLeod is a former geologist and science teacher. He is the author of The North Cascades Highway; A Roadside guide to America's Alps (University of Washington Press, 2013) and Classroom in Bloom: A Year in the Life of a School Garden (BLURB, 2026). When not in the woods or the alpine, he works and volunteers in the Methow Valley, Washington.
