I was born in 1947 and adopted in 1953. I grew up in a small West Texas town and left as soon as I could. For years I struggled with not knowing my background. I had vague memories but nothing concrete. Because of a very tenacious husband who wanted me to be happy, I began my search for MY family. Now I'm back in a small town and loving it. Married now for forty-seven years to a wonderful man who loves me and puts up with me. I have two families, one adopted and one biological who have become one with the search for identity. I have three children (and their spouses) who have blessed me with four beautiful grandchildren. But the role I was born to play is that of "older" SISTER to twelve siblings, six brothers and six sisters. And if you ask them, they will agree, I play it very well: bossy, nosy, loving, caring and slightly dysfunctional...
