Like Jazz, my work explores the tension between structure and spontaneity, form and freedom, harmony and discord, in pursuit of honest expression.

Inspired by a wide variety of masters including Cezanne, Picasso, and Diebenkorn, as well as musicians like Louis Armstrong, David Brubeck, and Paul Simon, I develop motifs and rhythms through improvisation.
