Carol Rogat was born in Chicago, Illinois and now lives in a suburb of Portland, Oregon. She is the mother of three grown children—a daughter and two sons—and the grandmother of a little girl just entering school. A former public school teacher of French and English, she is now a strong advocate for local arts expansion to bring more access to the arts and to reflect more diversity in the community. Her favorite activities include gardening, baking, reading and writing.
The start of Carol’s writing was focused on non-fiction with a request by her employer to write for a department newsletter, and later expanded into volunteer work doing press releases, promotional flyers, and grant proposal for arts and community service groups. Not long ago, she began to think she could combine her love of writing with presenting a fictional story whose theme children could understand easily. This book is a product of that effort, as well as the encouragement of family and friends.
