Keith Munro was born in Banff, Scotland, in 1948.
At the age of 16, he migrated to Australia where he has lived ever since.

At various times, he played guitar in a band, worked in a commercial photography studio and travelled widely in North America, Europe and Asia.

He is married and has one son.
