My professional life has revolved around architecture, education, graphic design, and photography for forty years. I taught architectural photography, for example, for twenty-five years at University of Oulu. For the decade up to 2008, I was a lecturer of architecture. Thereafter, I continued in the same profession except with my own personal company. Nowadays, my main focuses have been book design and architectural photography.

My personal method could be called artistic documentary photography. It incorporates the dramatic presentation of material with the assistance of series of field shots which are related to each other. My work with photos is for me the creation of a very specific certain visual journal which records the pace of life and the daily routine which is familiar to the subjects. The spirit of these photos is close to the spirit of the people therein.
