Steven Earl Shelton is a writer and visual storyteller whose work draws on memory, family, friendship, and the places that shape a life. One Shoe On / Un Zapato Puesto grew from his longtime friendship with Sam and from memories connecting Brooklyn and Puerto Rico. Combining personal stories, photographs, and original artwork in English and Puerto Rican Spanish, the book reflects his interest in how memory changes—and preserves—the stories we carry with us.
