PILLAGER — Jerald Lee Allen, 63, of Pillager, died on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at Good Samaritan Village-Bethany in Brainerd, Minn. Services for Jerry will be held on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, from 2-4 p.m. at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, Minn., and one hour prior to services at the chapel on Monday. Interment will be at Wildwood Cemetery in Pillager, Minn.
Jerry was born on Oct. 15, 1950, in Staples, Minn., to Harold and Beverly (Rice) Allen. He graduated from Pillager High School before entering the United States Navy for four years serving aboard aircraft carriers. Jerry then worked for Burlington Northern Railroad and later for the National Conductor at various nuclear power plants. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and motorcycles.
Jerry is survived by his sons, Jesse, of Baxter, and Aidan Meyer, of Faribault; brothers, James (Janice) Allen, of Pillager, Minn., Douglas (Wanda) Allen, of Pillager, Minn., Steven (Joni) Allen, of Pillager, Minn., and Scott Allen, of Little Falls, Minn.; sister, Sandy (Larry Kruse) Johnson, of Baxter, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Beverly. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, Minn.
