Acerca del libro
In my opinion the power of a photograph doesn’t come from its ability to portray reality. But this was exactly, where my photographic live started. When I was the age of around sixteen. I aspired to document my live, my friends, my surroundings like my father did. Slides all over – every Sunday walk, every holiday. After a very short excursion with one of the first affordable digital cameras, I bought my first 35mm Camera – At the moment I use a lot of medium format and 4×5 inch. The first step into a makeshift darkroom together with my father opened my eyes. The smell of chemicals and the excitement when the first contours of the photo begin to appear on the paper are fascinating until today. The feeling that you are the creator, with the possibility to influence the process with your hands, controlling shadows and highlights, it´s not only magic it´s a craft. From this time my darkroom began to grow. Creating an a whole new reality”, reality through photography with the possibility of forming and expressing emotions is pure holiday for my mind. – My own reality, seen and unseen but just felt. This is why I only use traditional methods , and often old papers and expired film materials for my work. Each print is handmade by passing light through a negative in an enlarger onto photographic paper in a darkroom. All things I’ve ever learned about photography are auto didactical and this is still an ongoing process.
