Acerca del libro electrónico
Pokagon State Park in Angola, Indiana, is a treasure of natural beauty. Swamp lands and ponds, meadows and wooded hills create habitat for wildflowers and wildlife.
Pokagon is home to all seven species of Indiana woodpecker, including red-headed and pileated. In spring, the calls of migrating sandhill cranes echo even before wild geraniums cover the ground. In summer the park is an excellent place to see dragonflies and bluebirds and the brightest of the annual wildflowers; in fall the foliage colors are show-stoppers. Winter snow displays the tracks of wild residents, and leafless trees allow birds to be seen with greater ease.
Cheryl Molin is a local author and photographer who hikes the trails at any opportunity. This book features her photos from every month: snowy January, February’s muted hues, unexpected wildflowers from late March, April’s violets, orioles preparing to nest in May, dragonflies and nesting pileated woodpeckers in June, colorful berries in July, young birds in August, bees hurrying in the fleeting warm days of September, ever-changing colors of October and November, and muskrats taking advantage of a warm day in December to feast in open water.
Filled with hundreds of photos, divided by month, Pokagon State Park Through the Seasons invites you to explore these and much more.
