This second volume of "Meaningful Gibberish" is a visual transcript of a Lec-Mo of the same name that was presented at the 45th Annual Glass Art Society Conference in Corning, New York on June 9th, 2016.
The presentation (and this ebook) discusses a personal project seeking new understanding of what words like "quality" can mean and what the term "craftsmanship" can fully encompass. Through an unlikely intersection between blown glass and kilnforming processes, the language of technique and the rules of "doing things well" are challenged by a provocative and equally thoughtful exploration of "(un)doing things well." It’s a project motivated by the notion of speaking in tongues: of thinking about languages that we can understand in a very literal way and of languages off the beaten path of common vernacular, yet still articulate and revealing.
