Acerca del libro electrónico
Asma Doesn’t celebrate Christmas is a children's book that celebrates diversity and tolerance. It centers around a young, Muslim girl named Asma, who is looking forward to her last day of school, before Christmas break. As she makes her way to school, Asma is met with adversity. Another student, named Gus teases Asma because she doesn't celebrate Christmas. This leads Asma down a path of sadness and depression as she tries to cope with being different from her other schoolmates. All hope seems to be lost until her best friend; Erina reminds her that it is okay to be different and that she shouldn't feel ashamed. She reminds Asma that although she does not celebrate Christmas, she has other holidays that she celebrates instead. Through her interaction with her friend Erina, Asma begins to embrace her differences and in doing so, she confronts Gus, while on her way back home. She shows Gus the errors of his ways by showing him that there are others like her, who do not celebrate Christmas. Realizing his error and the hurt he has caused, Gus changes his ways and asks Asma to forgive him. This interaction between Gus and Asma culminates in them establishing a new friendship, based on mutual respect and understanding while celebrating their similarities.
