When I was a little girl I remember sitting on the back porch swing with my Mom, looking through cookbooks and magazines and writing down recipes. Then we would make those recipes together, changing them to see if we could make them even better. My Mom would the rate the recipe after making it and add her notes on these little recipe cards and store them in cute little recipe boxes. Little did I know that they would be mine one day and would bring back so many memories and fill my heart with both joy and sorrow. I have so many of these little cards with handwritten notes about how she liked the recipe and how she would teach me how to make it. So often these cards bring tears to my eyes as I remember such wonderful times with her in the kitchen. I know that she would love the fact that I am sharing them now with you. Proceeds from the sale of my books go to support the NO KILL Advocacy Center and Defenders of Animal Rights, Inc., in their efforts to save the lives of dogs and cats in this country who are killed unnecessarily while waiting in shelters for their forever home.
