Why bench?

It was just over a year ago when I started taking a more active role on flickr that I discovered the 'Bench Monday' group. The description immediately caught my imagination 'Don't forget to post a bench picture every Monday!' Well I was hooked, I've not managed to post a picture every Monday, but it has sparked a new creative thread to my photography.
