Acerca del libro
The Song of Antef, also known as the Lay of the Harper, was written in ancient Egypt during the Middle Kingdom. It appears partly in the tomb of Paätenemheb, from the time of Horemheb, 18th dynasty, now in the museum in Leiden (where the introductory line says it was copied from the tomb of a King Antef (a name used by several kings from 11th and 17th dynasties). The complete poem is preserved in the New Kingdom Harris 500 papyrus (British Museum). These works are accepted by scholars as being a copy of a genuine Middle Kingdom text.
