It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Deloris Elmae (Norman) Peterson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and treasured friend, who departed this life peacefully on March 8, 2026, at Heather’s House in Fargo, ND. Deloris was born on October 3, 1941, in Hallock, Minnesota, to the late Arthur and Ethel Norman.
Deloris’s life was a tapestry of love, devotion, and steadfast faith. A graduate of Hallock High School in 1959, she built a rich and varied career as a professional seamstress, school assistant, and insurance secretary. Her work was not only a testament to her skill and dedication but also a reflection of her nurturing spirit and willingness to serve others.
On October 24, 1959, Deloris married the love of her life, Richard. Their marriage spanned an incredible 66 years, a testament to their unwavering commitment and deep affection for one another. Together, they raised five daughters, creating a family filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Deloris was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
A woman of deep faith, Deloris was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church and a dedicated participant in the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (WELCA). Her community was enriched by her involvement in the Hobby Club and Homemakers, as well as her spirited participation in the Whist Club. Deloris’s presence was a beacon of warmth and kindness, her laughter was contagious, and her dimples broadened with her smile.
