The Atlas of the Otherwise is a compilation of experimental cartographic works produced in the course Cartographic Representation, across the Department of Geography and the Berkeley Center for New Media at the University of California, Berkeley. Against the idea of the map as objective or finished, this atlas treats mapping as inquiry, intervention, and refusal. Bringing together maps, diagrams, and spatial narratives, the projects collected here engage mapping as a speculative, critical, and expressive act—one that makes visible alternative geographies, contested knowledges, and ways of seeing otherwise.
