Enlivening and often adding a touch of humour, Kathy Figueroa’s poems have been published well over one hundred times in the Bancroft, Ontario, newspapers. A variety of blogs, websites, and e-zines, many originating in other countries, also include her poetry. Her list of hard-copy publications, to date, include ten chapbooks and five volumes of poetry: “Paudash Poems,” “Flowertopia,” “The Cathedral of the Eternal Blue Sky,” “The Ballad of the PoeTrain Poeteer: Winnipeg to Vancouver,” and her latest collection, “The Renaissance of Rhyme.” Her old-fashioned verse can also be found in dozens of anthologies. Reading her work in public whenever she gets the opportunity, Kathy has participated in poetry readings, in venues both large and small, across Canada, and at events she’s organized, such as “The Word Is Wild Literary Festival,” held during two days in June, 2014. Along with her poetry, Kathy’s photographs and articles have been included in a variety of regional publications.
