Judith Baker Montano is an award-winning and world-renowned Canadian fibre artist, photographer, author and teacher. She is recognized as the consummate expert in crazy quilting, silk ribbon embroidery and embellishments. She also creates amazing freeform embroidery land and seascapes using hand-dyed fabrics, threads, yarns and ribbons.

Judith grew up on the historic Bar U Ranch, Alberta, Canada. Her love of fabrics and embellishments reflect her Indian, French, Scottish and German heritage. She has designed for Butterick/ Vogue, Bucilla Company, Mokuba Ribbons of Tokyo, Japan, Fox Hill Designs, Treenway Silks, Robert Kaufman Fabrics.

Judith was presented with the “Governor General’s Centennial Award of Canada” in recognition for her artwork as a Canadian living abroad. Teaching takes her throughout the world. Classes vary from clothing design, crazy quilting, embellishments, mixed mediums to freeform embroidery. She is the author of fourteen best-selling books.
