Acerca del libro
Spectacular and unique - this is how the Axalp live shooting demonstration is described all over the world. Every year in October, the Swiss Air Force conducts its demonstration at the Axalp-Ebenfluh live firing range in the Alps. Thousands of enthusiasts climb the Swiss Alps (~2000-2500m) to enjoy the roar of fighterjets and to admire the precision of the pilots shooting the targets located almost within reach of the public.
Air Force pilots use the F-5E and F/A-18 fighterjets to demonstrate their flying and targeting skills to the public and use their cannons to fire short bursts at targets on a nearby ridge and the southern slope of the Axalphorn and the northern slope of Wildgärst. The demonstration is supplemented with diffrent helicopter demonstrations such as the Super Puma, Cougar and EC635. The grand final is reserved for the Swiss aerobatic team “Patrouille Suisse”!
Photographer Tom Brinckman (°1981) from Bruges, Belgium documented
this event in 2017. This photobook combines the aircraft, helicopters and
the alpine atmosphere of Axalp
