Acerca del libro
Designed by Emily Sharpe, the UCARE Garden was inspired by Broughton Castle, a fortified manor house near Banbury in Oxfordshire and home to Lord and Lady Saye and Sele, patrons of the charity. The garden was commissioned to promote the beautiful UCARE tulip, Tulipa 'Caresse', a symbol of hope in the treatment and care of patients with urological cancers. Inspired by the castle's magnificent oak panelled drawing room, crenellated walls and elaborate 19th century ladies garden, the design reflects the structure and setting of this historic family home. Like Hornton Ironstone from which Broughton Castle is built, the oak benches, stone planters and steel water features were chosen for their strength and longevity. Designed and built by friends for friends, the garden was awarded a Silver-Gilt Medal by the RHS and featured on BBC Gardeners' World.
