Acerca del libro
What is a line? In geometry terms, a line is defined as a long and thin mark that is straight, has no thickness, and extends in both directions indefinitely. With this idea, the world is indefinitely made up of lines that go on forever, and without any means to stop. Mathematicians use lines to prove and explain geometries, equations, and formulas. Designers employ lines to create shapes, contours, and define boundaries. Lines are used in a composition to create variety by using angular, broken, bent, thick or thin lines, to simulate texture, to divide one color from another or mass from space. Lines can be used to simulate perspective and to create the illusion of depth, express movement or motion, and to create focus through direction. Everything that exists or has ever existed is created by lines - lines that are continuously moving through, and along side each other in all directions, infinitely. In these pages you will find examples and visuals of such, which may provoke your ideas of what a line truly is. This is the life of a line.
